What we believe

The Bible
We believe the entire Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit

THE TRINITY
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God born of the Virgin Mary who came to this earth as Saviour of the world

SALVATION
We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins.  We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross.  We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again

WATER BAPTISM
We believe water baptism is an act of identification with the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ

COMMUNION
We believe in taking communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.  The broken body is for our healing and the shed blood for our redemption

GROWING RELATIONSHIP
We believe every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ

History

From its humble origins Victory’s first meeting was held in the pastor’s front living room in Rathfarnham in 1989.  The congregation consisted of ten faithful people.  The pastor preached the uncompromising word of God from its outset and was the first church in Ireland to start video bible classes throughout the country.  In a short time the congregation grew to fifty people and the church relocated to bigger premises in Cheeverstown.  Victory welcomed many people from the locality and the wider Dublin area and before long outgrew its accommodation again.  A central Dublin location was secured and Victory opened its doors to the public at 35 Westland Row, Dublin 1, more than 20 years ago.

Meetings soon went from one on a Sunday to three meetings as the numbers increased.  With the trend of increasing numbers set to continue during the following years a multi-storey newly built Victory Centre was opened in November 2009.  Its amphitheatre-style auditorium has a capacity for 1,000 people.
